Borgo Barel has a long history of winegrowers, in the 40’s already the great grandfather Piero used to cultivate the vines and vinify it and sell his products in bulk. The tradition has been passed on for generations. Today Borgo Barel is a family-run business, where Ivano (3rd generation) oversees the winemaking and his wife Raffaella overlooks the administration. The Azienda was founded in 2017, under their own label and bottling their own product.

Their philosophy is to give the best quality with as little intervention in the vineyards as possible, they promote sustainability and biodiversity, two very important aspects to grow healthy and full of flavour grapes. The property is located on top of a hill and it has the incredible view of the hills of the prosecco region protected by the UNESCO, a magical territory, and landscapes. The family owns different plots around the Conegliano area with different expositions and different grape varieties. Glera, the protagonist of the region, and other varieties such as Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and ‘Incrocio Manzoni’ (a cross of Glera x Cabernet Sauvignon).

Cuvee del Fondatore is seen as the 3rd son of Ivano, it is his project where he refused all the rules dictated by the DOCG to really express his style of wine. It is a blend of Glera, Pinot Bianco and Incrocio Manzoni, every year he changes the proportions depending on the vintages. The wine spends 60 days in Autoclave, double of what is needed for regular prosecco, to give a multi layered sparkling wine.

His Extra Dry and Brut are made in a similar way as per Cuvee del Fondatore. Their Prosecco are made following the strict rules of the DOCG and he goes even further. The grapes are manual harvested, selected, and they go for a minimum of 60 days maturation on the lees, making his prosecco a real gourmet.

Borgobarel is situated among the marvellous hills of Vittorio Veneto. The important daily temperature fluctuations enable the high quality grape production that give Prosecco Superiore inimitable aromas and flavours.

Scents of apple and pear; light straw-yellow colour, decisively brilliant; simple taste with great fineness, balanced and characterized by a peculiar and essential freshness; creamy foam with a persistent perlage.

Prosecco brut bottle

PROSECCO SUPERIORE CONEGLIANO VALDOBBIADENE DOCG BRUT 

A delicate scent of white flowers and citrus; light straw-yellow colour, decisively brilliant; dry and intriguing taste due to the particular sparkling process technique, of great finesse, balanced and fresh; creamy foam with a persistent perlage.

Historical blend with scents of September peaches; straw yellow colour, decisively brilliant; tasty on the palate, fresh and adequately balanced; creamy foam with a persistent perlage.
